I. Product Introduction
This product is a novel, self-developed, eco-friendly flame retardant. It is composed of environmentally friendly organic and inorganic substances that have been chemically modified. By loading highly active catalytic molecules onto the surface of silicate platelets, it effectively alters the activation energy of halogen-antimony flame retardants during combustion. This process reduces the generation of low-activity combustion products and increases the content of highly active free radicals, thereby enhancing flame retardant efficiency.
It exhibits a highly effective synergistic effect when used with chlorine- or bromine-containing flame retardants and can replace antimony trioxide in equal amounts. This product series disperses well in plastic pellets and does not negatively impact the material's original flame retardancy, physical properties, or processing performance. It can even improve the impact strength of the finished product. Additionally, it significantly reduces smoke emission during combustion and has an anti-dripping effect, effectively mitigating the phenomenon of high-temperature molten drips while burning.
II. Product Models and Applications
STAR FRZ-15: Primarily used in brominated flame-retardant ABS. It can replace 50% of the antimony trioxide proportion. For example, a 4% antimony trioxide loading can be replaced with 2% antimony trioxide + 2% STAR FRZ-15 without compromising flame retardancy; in some cases, impact strength may even improve.
It can also be used in flame-retardant HIPS and PP, potentially offering slight improvements in flame retardancy in certain systems.
For Brominated Flame-Retardant Nylon:
2.1 STAR FRZ-16: Can replace 50% of the antimony trioxide proportion. For example, 6% antimony trioxide can be replaced with 3% antimony trioxide + 3% STAR FRZ-16, maintaining flame retardancy and largely unaffected material properties, especially toughness.
2.2 FR-P9: Can replace one-third of the antimony trioxide proportion. For example, 6% antimony trioxide can be replaced with 4% antimony trioxide + 2% FR-P9, maintaining flame retardancy and largely unaffected material properties, especially toughness.
For Brominated Flame-Retardant PBT:
3.1 STAR FR-T15: Can replace 50% of the antimony trioxide proportion. For example, 3% antimony trioxide can be replaced with 1.5% antimony trioxide + 1.5% STAR FR-T15. This can improve flame retardancy, optimize material cost, and largely maintain material properties, especially toughness.
3.2 STAR FR-T16: Can replace one-third of the antimony trioxide proportion. For example, 3% antimony trioxide can be replaced with 2% antimony trioxide + 1% STAR FR-T16. This can improve flame retardancy, optimize material cost, and largely maintain material properties, especially toughness.
