I. Product Introduction
This product is a self-developed novel eco-friendly flame retardant, synthesized through chemical modification of environmentally friendly organic and inorganic compounds. By loading highly active catalytic molecules onto silicate lamellae, it effectively alters the activation energy of halogen-antimony flame retardants during combustion, reduces the generation of low-activity products, and increases the content of highly active free radicals, thereby enhancing flame retardant efficiency. It exhibits excellent synergistic effects when combined with chlorine or bromine-based flame retardants and can replace antimony trioxide in equal amounts. The product disperses well in plastic pellets, has no adverse effects on the material's original flame retardancy, physical properties, or processability, and can even improve the impact strength of the final product. Additionally, it significantly reduces smoke emission during combustion and provides anti-dripping properties, effectively mitigating high-temperature molten dripping during burning.
II. Product Models and Applications
STAR FRZ-15: Primarily used in brominated flame-retardant ABS systems. It can replace 50% of the antimony trioxide content. For example, a formulation with 4% antimony trioxide can be modified to 2% antimony trioxide + 2% STAR FRZ-15 without compromising flame retardant performance, while in some cases even improving impact strength.
It can also be used in flame-retardant HIPS and other materials, slightly improving flame retardancy in certain systems. For Brominated Flame-Retardant Nylon:
2.1 STAR FRZ-16: Can replace 50% of the antimony trioxide, e.g., in a formulation with 18% BPS and 6% antimony trioxide, the 6% antimony can be replaced with 3% antimony + 3% STAR FRZ-16, without affecting flame retardancy or performance, especially material toughness. Similarly, in a formulation with 12% decabromodiphenyl ethane and 4% antimony trioxide, the 4% antimony can be replaced with 2% antimony + 2% STAR FRZ-16.
2.2 FR-P9: Can replace one-third of the antimony trioxide, e.g., 6% antimony can be replaced with 4% antimony + 2% FR-P9, without compromising flame retardancy or performance, especially material toughness. It is cost-effective and can be used in brominated flame-retardant PP.
For Brominated Flame-Retardant PBT/PET/PTT:
3.1 STAR FR-T15: Can replace 50% of the antimony trioxide, e.g., 3% antimony can be replaced with 1.5% antimony + 1.5% STAR FR-T15, improving flame retardancy, optimizing material cost, and largely maintaining performance, especially toughness.
3.2 STAR FR-T16: Can replace one-third of the antimony trioxide, e.g., 3% antimony can be replaced with 2% antimony + 1% STAR FR-T16, improving flame retardancy, optimizing material cost, and largely maintaining performance, especially toughness.
III. Packaging and Storage
